My mother hates me

My mother hates me although she doesn't verbally say it. She has called me names and I have this feeling around her that I'm not wanted around her. When I'm home with her she'll lock herself into her bedroom and doesn't let me in, but when my sister comes to visit she'll let her into her room. She'll only let me in because it'll make her look bad if she doesn't. She's emotionally abusive to me, which has left me with no self esteem and no self confidence. She use to be physically abuse when I was younger, but the wounds are still there.

You sound a lot like me hon. My mother treated me this way as well, and sometimes still does.

How old are you? Can you talk to a councellor at school?

I'm really sorry, I don't know what's wrong with your mom but I suggest you at least bring it up. She'll probably laugh or get mad, so if all goes wrong talk to a school counselor, it'll help. If you have summer break then go do activities that get you out of the house and away from your mom, that or go to a therapist... How old are you? Where's your dad?

Talk to her about it, tell her how upset it makes you feel that she treats you like this.

You're 18. You have a choice now whether or not you want to stay in that environment. If I were you, I'd do my best to get a job and start saving up to get out of there. I'd look into getting a personal counselor for yourself too.

You not feeling comfortable talking to her is probably one of the reasons you two aren't close. If it really bothers you and you want to fix the relationship with her..then try(by talking to her). If you don't then yeah get out of there!
