ok well im a bit embarrassed about this, but a few days ago while i was in the shower i noticed a strange smell...and realised it was coming from my penis..im a clean guy dont get me wrong but i am just worried about this smell its really bothering me can anyone help me ?
If you are uncircumcised, that could be the problem. My husband is not circumcised, so I am a bit experienced with this.
Since he still has his foreskin, he has to wash down there between 2-3 times per day, just to make sure it stays fresh and scent free. I'm not putting you down in any way, but what he thought was good cleaning (once a day) was actually not.
Make sure after you clean, you dry it really good as well. Nothing should be "trapped" in there, including water. Also, when you go pee, make sure you pull the foreskin back enough to where no urine can get in there.
The smell should go away if you start cleaning more. You dont necessarily have to full on get into the shower every time you want to clean down there, just a quick scrub would do.
If you are heavy into sports and other activities that cause you to sweat a lot, this can also make it worse. You always want to wash after these activities.
Just a little tip : my husband has found that Axe body wash works wonders for this situation (he uses the green one, dont remember what the scent is called). Just make sure you rinse all of the soap out of the foreskin to prevent any soap residue from being left behind.
