does loosing ur virginity change u?

people always say that after you loose your virginity that it changes you and ur a different person after but i dont get it. people say to make sure you're really ready and that its the right person or it will mess you up and you'll be depresed and stuff. im 16 turning 17 right now and i dont plan on loosing my virginity anytime real soon, im just waiting for the right person but i have alot of friends that are not virgins and they dont seem to be bothered by the fact that someone took their virginity. i just dont know why people say to be VERY careful because once its qone you wont get it back as if its some BIG mistake.. anwers !!!! =] thnx

I moved this to teens so that you might get more answers.

As far as losing your virginity--I don't think regret sets in until later, when you realize that you can only give it once, and you meet someone more worthy of it.

Clough agrees: True. Best to wait until you are absolutely sure that you are giving it to the right person.

I totally agree with Synnen. After you lose it when your young you think your on top of the world but years later when you meet Mr.Right you will wish that you could give him that gift. I honestly wish that I could have saved my virginity for my wedding night; it would have been so much more exciting.

Clough agrees: Good, caring answer with retrospective insight.

What your friends think about it doesn't matter, especially if they don't care that they are not virgins anymore. What really matters is what you think. It is good that you are giving this subject a great deal of thought. What you decide is going to be a decision that you are going to have to live with, so it is best to choose your actions very carefully and wisely without feeling pressured to make any rash decisions.

Have to spread the rep. Clough but your answer is so very true. When I was younger, it was hard for me to understand the concept of having to live with the decisions I made. I get it now! I wish I could have "gotten it" when I was a teen!

I couldnt see a way that you would be changed by losing your virginity. The only thing that can change you, is you.

Hello.

Its not like it was years ago where the Lady fell in Love with the Man that took her for the first time. Many Girls look at it as sex not Making Love. Thats a shame because it meant something when it was Making Love, it was a special gift you gave the right Man even if he didn't end up being your life long Mr. Right, at the time he was your Mr. Right. It made it very special because you only can give yourself for the first time once.

Just be sure the first time is because your ready and not because you want to keep a guy or because all your friends have done it. Its up to you if its Sex or Making Love.

Good Luck

Yeah, me too! I wish that I had "gotten it" then, also! If we care, the best that we can do is teach the young about the experiences that we have had; how those experiences made us feel and what we learned from those experiences. As they grow into adulthood, they must learn to live with the choices that they have made. Hopefully, we will have guided them well and they will heed what we say. There are some things in life where you will never get a second chance to make a choice.

You are correct. The only thing that can change what you think and how you feel about yourself is you. In this instance, it not so much what has been done, but what you think about it that counts as far losing your virginity.
