Does he like me?

Ok, so heres the story before i go to the current stuff

I've liked him ever since last year, he is shy around people(except his friends.) on our class trip to North Carolina, his friend found out i liked him, then that friend told the other one, and finally he blurted out to the guy i like that i liked him.

We have the same tennis coach and over the summer we played tennis once with another guy. Starting this year I have three classes with him. Ever since last year when he found out that I liked him, if we pass by each other anywhere he makes eye contact and smiles. He dosn't ever really talk to me or anyone else again execpt for his friends. I really like him, but I myself am really shy, what do I do, and does he like me?

I use to be really good friends with a girl and when she had a friend tell me that she liked me, i nearly stopped talking to her. I am really shy too. Luckily i worked up some courage to be somewhat like myself. We use to talk 24/7 until i found out she liked me. I wouldnt say i loved her or anything but i probablly would have gone out with her if i didnt live so far away and i was going to a different school the next year. The guy you are talking about sounds like me so i am sure there is a chance he likes you. Maybe have a friend tell him if you are too shy. Or invite him to a movie with a group of friends (Not his guy friends or else he will just talk with them) and try to sit right next to him. Eventually decrease the amount of people who come along until its just you 2. Maybe he will feel more comfortable around you and then you can ask him out or he may ask you out.

If he is shy then he probably wouldn't go up and talk to you. I think smiling is his way of flirting with you. Just go up to him and start a conversation and get to know him a bit better.

Dont have a friend tell him that you like him.
A lot of guys find that a turn off because it shows you lack courage and confidence.
And even if you do, just dont let him know that. =]]]

But yeah, just start talking to him.
And tell him youre interested.
Hey, if he doesnt like you back, no harm no foul cuz you werent the best of friends to begin with, right?
