age differnce

so i met this guy a little while back and im a freshman in high school and he's a senior. we talk everyday, and almost all day too. we both know we like each other alot. we say sweet things to each other and all that other stuff, haha i really want this to go a little farther, as in dating, boyfriend-girlfriend thing. but with the age difference, you can only imagine that there are some problems. we have talked about this a couple times now. he says he doesnt want a "real" relationship because he's graduating in 6 months and will be going to college. and i think he says that because he really does want a serious relationship but doesnt want things to get messed up because of him. which i think is really sweet of him to think of it. but it hurts because i dont want to act like were dating but not be dating. that just bothers me and he means so much to me and well yeah. and i think that he shouldnt worry so much about him going to college and we'll just deal with it when the time comes. but i dont think he wants to do that. i guess im just so confsed and a little heartbroken.. i guess i just want your opinion on this and what you think might be best. thanks.

I think his decision is wise for many reasons and I think that alot of us (especially girls) have been where you are.

He is making a smart choice. Enjoy the time you do spend with him.

He says he doesnt want a relationship so he s being honest with you. You should tell him that it s not ok with you to act as if you re dating when you re not-then you re honest with him.

Justwantfair agrees: I agree, she needs to be honest as well.

um, i think he really means he doesn't want a relationship and you're only hearing what you want to hear. this is going to be tough to hear, but he's going off to college very soon. and maybe for a little while, he'll keep in contact. and then you'll likely never hear from him again, other than the occasional facebook comment or something whatever the trendy social network becomes. and that sounds awful right now but you'll move on to. you'll probably have a new bf, someone your own age and by then you hopefully won't care about him.

amicon agrees: yes sounds very likely scenario.
