If I were you, I would get a job doing something else, but keep up skills in IT in various ways -- build computers, work on friends' computers, etc. Get some work experience. Telemarketing would develop your communication skills, perhaps management and organizational skills too -- always good things. Learn as much as you can in whatever job you have. Once you have experience doing real work, you will become more desirable for IT.

I don't know where you're located, but if you're here in the USA I'd suggest trying the following online job boards:

Dice
TechieGold
Monster
CareerBuilder

If you're not in the USA, don't depend just on campus recruitment for potential jobs. Look for temporary work in the IT field, or a couple of part-time jobs if you can't find a full-time job. Try local software companies and PC repair shops, and companies and schools that have small IT departments. If you do take a different job, keep your skills current by taking continuing education/certification courses in your area(s) of interest. And realize that there are ups and downs in the job market; just because there aren't any entry level positions in IT today in your area doesn't mean there won't be any a few months from now.
