What should I do if I've been deducted SS and Medicare Taxes in Error

I am holding F-1 visa and on OPT (from July'07 to June'08). I had been deducted Social Security and Medicare taxes in error by my employer since July'07 to Mar'08 (I just told them to stop the deduction). I would like to file the refund for those two taxes I have paid.

I wonder if I could file the refund the whole amount (July'07 to Mar'08) at the same time or I should do it separately regarding to the tax year (July'07 to Dec'07 and Jan'08 to Mar'08 next year)? However, in order to file the form 843 for the refund, W-2 is required to be attached with the form 843. Does it mean I could file the refund only for July'07 to Dec'07 this time?

Thank you so much,
KS

I think this is a relevant link:

File Form 843 and Form 8316 - refund OPT Tax - Refund of Social Security (SS) and Medicare Taxes OPT Tax - Optional Practical Training Taxes - H1B Visa Taxes,F1 Tax, J1 Visa Taxes,OPT to H1 Tax, F1 to H1B Taxes, Internation Student Taxes, istaxes, nr

I have nothing to do with visataxes.

This tax opinion is not a legal advice. It may have missed facts and could be incorrect.

You can only file for the refund of 2007. But before that ask your employer to refund the taxes. Then file 843.
