For the year 2008, your employer is required to tax you on the first $120.00 in earnings per week. There is very, very little in types of earnings that is non-taxable for NYSDI, but there are a select few types of employees that are NOT REQUIRED to pay NYSDI. They are teachers, agricultural labor, independent contractors and certain real estate brokers.
NYSDI tax rate is .5% of your gross earnings (not your net pay, also known as your take-home pay!) up to $.60 per week. |
