What is ny SUI SDI tax
    Hi,

I live in nyc and just got a new job. From my paycheck, I have to pay ny SUI / SDI tax. I wonder what it is. In my previous employment, I didn't have this. Is this mandatory? Thanks!

SUI is State Unemployment Insurance; SDI is State Disability Insurance. Both of these are generally very small. Generally less that one percent of your income. And no, it is not optional
