Want 1040 package

Is there any way I can get those idiots to send me a 1040 package every year instead of the 1040A? Once again, I have a capital gain, not a distribution and must file a 1040. So the big 1040A package they sent me goes to the landfill and I have to track down a 1040 and all the schedules I need. The 1040's they used to send me had everything I needed.

What they send you is based on what you filed the previous year, or at least that's the theory.

I have filed nothing except 1040's for the last 30-40 years. Some years I have capital gains, and some not. Easier to just file the same form every year. Each form ends up with the same numbers on it.

Have you tried the IRS.gov website?
You can download any form you need, including a 1040, there.
This year you can also E-File for FREE if your AGI is under $50,000 by going to IRS.gov and clicking e-file and following the links. You can file using TurboTax and other name brand software many people pay to use. I've been telling everyone I know about that option!

fredg agrees: Very Good Suggestions on doing it yourself; might be easier in the long run, than trying to get them to send the correct forms.
labman agrees: All commonly available info, not realative.
