W2 form from the unemployment office

Is there a way to go online and print my w2 from where I collected unemployment from last year so I don't have to wait for it in the mail so I can file my taxes sooner?

Access the state government website and go to the state Department of Labor, which typically administers the unemployment compensation program.

A number of states allow the recipients of the unemployment compensation to download the Form 1099-G direct from the website. Your state may be one of those states.

You should have it by Feb 1st of this year for 2009.

You can go online where you filed your weekly unemployment claims and see if it is posted yet in your communications section. If you filed your cliams online chances are you won't receive a W2 in the mail but will be able to print it out from the state's website.

Aissa:

We do NOT send you the unemployment Form 1099-G (not W-2).

Your state Department of Labor sends it, or you can download it off their we site.
