Turn around date for an amended tax return mailed 08/16/09.
I'm requesting a turn around date for 2007 & 2008 amended tax return checks.

Please help me find out the turn around dates for two amended tax return checks,one is for year 2007 and the other is 2008. Returns were mailed around 08/17/09

IRS normally takes 8 to 12 weeks to process amended tax return. You can not find the status of the return online.

It HAS been two months since mailing the returns, so a phone call to the IRS is in order.

Call 1-800-829-1040 to inquire about the status of these amendments. Since Monday and Tuesday are normally HEAVY call volume days, I recommend you wait until Wednesday before you call.
