    Tax for h1b worker
    Hi,

    Recently I got the H1B visa. I am married with one kid. I would like to know my tax liabilities. My yearly income is $60000.

    Well, from the day your H-1B beacame effective, every dollar you made is being taxed for 6.2% for Social Security and 1.45% for Medicare.

    As for income taxes, you will owe BOTH federal and state income taxes.

    You have not identified the state where you live, so I cannot comment on that.

    You will owe about $4,300 in federal income taxes.
