W2's

My husband worked for a company for about 6 months last year the engraved wine bottles. When we tried to get a hold of them about sending him his W2 their number has been disconnected. I have tried calling bridal shows to see get a phone number with no help, I've tried looking online for their name, no help. I don't know what else to do. Is there someone I can contact that will have a working phone number for these people. We were hoping to get our refund back before April to take to Mexico with us, but the way its looking thats not going to happen. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Krystal

If they just went out of business, their may be no one to contact.

If you knew the owners name or the managers name you can try to find them personally.

They are suppose to send out W2 even if they close but sadly some places do not. You may have to take and look at your final check from this place and it should show your gross earnings and your dedctutions.

I am also sure that Atlanta Tax Expert will have some better words of wisdon for this also

Kwaits:

Call the IRS and get a copy of your tax script for 2005. That will tell you if they even originated a W-2 for you as required by law. With the tax script, any competent tax professional can reporduce the W-2 for you. That will take care of the federal return.

You need to contact your state tax authority and ask for a copy of their tax info on you as well. The federal tax script normally does not have the state tax withholding information on it.
