Tax filing for spouse of dual-status alien?
    Hi Atlanta Tax Expert

I was on a F1 visa until June 2006, then switched to the E3 visa for Australians from July. I have filed my taxes as a dual-status alien and completed Form 1040 with 1040NR as a supporting statement for my non-resident status at the start of the year.

I am wondering what if any forms I need to file for my wife who was on a F2 visa and is now on a spouse E3 visa. She does not work and has no income - as a F2 holder, I filed Form 8843 for her, but it does not seem required for her now. Does she need to file any forms given that she does not earn any income?

    Thanks!
