hello there,i filed my 2007 taxes on time i owe money havent payed ive gotten mixed replys people tell me i will receive stimulus rebate and people tell me i wont.i earned about $28000 the irs sent me a letter on june 9th that i will receive a stimulus check on the 13th for $600 havent yet received ive heard it could take 3-5 days longer which would be like the 18th.so im still unsure will i get this check or will the amount just be applied to what i owe? thank you very much for the help in advance
If you owe the IRS any money they will take it from your stimulus check first then send you a refund if theres anything left,so if you owe the IRS $600 or more you wont get nothing but a letter in the mail saying your stimulus check was applied to your past do taxes, if you owe less than $600 lets say for example $400 then they would take out the $400 then send you the differance of $200. Thats the way the IRS does it.
