The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.

For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: Your U.S. Tax Return: Are You Eligible for 2008 Stimulus Tax Rebate Payment?

These payments are sent this summer till the fall. When you receive your check depends on the last two digits of your social security number. For example, my daughter (adult) has 12 as the last numbers of her social security number. Her check will arrive long before mine because my number ends in the eighties.

IRS began the transfer economic stimulus payments from April 28, 2008. In the first lot only those whose return was processed by IRS on or before April 15, 2008 will get the rebate. For this initial batch of stimulus payments, the payment date will be based on the last two digits of your Social Security Number. First to get are those who opted for direct deposit, then from May 16, IRS will start mailing the paper check.
