    If you don't know how to file taxes... I would recommend hiring a tax preparer in your area.

    You can call the IRS and they can answer your question for certain.
    IRS Tax Help Line for Individuals (800)829-1040
    Or perhaps you might try and contact your local United Way (usually dial 211 from a land line)
    And ask for free tax help info. The AARP has volunteers that prepare taxes for free.
