More than likely, you will benefit more by filing jointly and choosing for you both to be treated as resident aliens than filing alone as a non-resident alien.
However, that is NOT guaranteed!
You need to provide some salary figures. Be sure to include any world-wide income (not in the U.S.) earned in 2006.
