Living in WV, Working in VA

I am contemplating taking a job in Virginia. However, I live in WV.
Will my employer withhold WV tax and if they don't, how do I have them withheld?

Additionally, how do we handle this when we file our annual tax returns? Will I have to file a return for both WV and VA?

Thanks for any information.

IMHO, you will have to file tax returns in both VA and WV. You will have to pay VA first, because that is where you work.

It is likely that WV will give you some form of credit for the taxes you had withheld for VA.

It is likely that VA's tax rates are higher than WV's, but I am not sure. A call to a local tax pro who operates on the border of both states will get you an answer to that question.

If VA is higher than WV, you will probably not have to pay WV any taxes at all.
