itin number process suspended?

hello
I sent 3 itin request (for my nephews in peru that I support from here) along with my tax form in march 18th , i included the birth certificate and studies certificate for each one, after 4 weeks they returned to me the birth certificates and studies certificates along with a green paper that said that my itins are in process, one day after that, I got 3 letters in the mail that said that according to the information that i sent those persons are in the united states and they wanted to know the dates when they got in to the states, since they are in peru, I put the date when I got in to the states and i returned the mails in the envelopes that tney sent me, but they didn't ask me for any other document or anything else. it is 3 weeks since i returned the mails and I didn't get anything yet, does somebody know what else is going to happend now?, if I will get my itin numbers, will i get rejected or how long else is it going to take??

From what you said it appears that your nephews are not U.S. citizens or residents and even did not live in the U.S. So you can not claim them dependents. A dependent must be a U.S. citizen or resident. Read about the qualifying relative: Your U.S. Tax Return: Requirements for claiming a dependent

IRS asked you for the dates they got in the states, but you lied; gave wrong date, which is your own arrival date. It is serious matter.

You should call IRS and tell them that you will be submitting amended tax return and they need not process the ITIN applications.
