incentive taxes
we get safety incentives at my job they are small gifts such as umbrellas and flashlights. they now make us pay taxes on these "gifts" why is that? when was that tax law passed and by who?

The gifts are considered part of your compensation or salary. Hence, they are taxable.

The law was passed back in the 1950s by Congress.
