How to get CAF number for POA?

I had filed 2 tax returns for my friends.
They received their Refund check.
How can I get CAF number for form 2848?
When I filed the returns I entered NONE in the space.
Any advice will be helpful.
Thank you

Troj:

The CAF number is a special account number registered with the IRS by tax professionals.

If you did tax returns for your friends (presumably at no charge), you will not have a CAF number, nor do you need one for Form 2848.

I charge them for this service.
Infact I singed one the returns, because my friend was not in the USA in that time.
What should I do? To call IRS and get this number.
Is there any specific procedure for this?
Thank you

Troj:

You have to apply with the IRS to get a CAF number.

Do a search on the IRS website (www.irs.gov) to get the procedures for applying for a CAF.

BTW, do not mention to the IRS that you signed your friend's name to his return. The IRS takes a rather dim view of such practices.
