futa and suta taxes

Are businesses taxed at the same rate for SUTA? How does a business SUTA tax affect it's FUTA tax requirement?

I am from PA, but would guess it works the same in other states. Your SUTA rate is based on how frequently you lay off employees. If you rarely lay off employees your rate will be low. If you lay off frequently, your SUTA rate will be higher.

If you pay your SUTA late, you will pay more in FUTA. Also, paying SUTA in multiple states affects your FUTA rate.

Suta is the state unemployment and everyone can have a different rate based on your payroll history. FUTA is the federal unemployment tax is at the rate of .008.
