filing 1040EZ instead of 1040 NR-EZ

Hi,

I was on F1 status for the whole year of 2005. By using some software I have filled 1040EZ instead of 1040NR-EZ.
As I couldn't get one w-2 form in time, i amened the return (i obtained through 1040EZ) using 1040X.
Will there be any issue with this. Do I need to submit anything to show to the IRS that my status for the year 2005 is non-resident alien(for which I am supposed to submit 1040 NR-EZ) instead of resident alien?

Thanks

There IS an issue. You should have filed Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.

If, in the future, you want to apply for a green card, they check to see if you filed correctly. Right now, you have NOT filed correctly.

Amend the return again using Form 140X and attach a Form 1040NR. There should be no additional tax due.

If you need professional help preparing your return, please consider using my services. You will find my rates extremely competitve. Contact me at [email address] if you are interested! I have references from clients who are people just like you.
