dont know much about taxes

I filed my taxes with hr block and they charged me $350 and i only got 150 back from my taxes and i claimed my daughter. Can I go back so that my fiance can claim us both. Does this sound like tax fraud because of how much they charged me it seems like way too much?

That seems to be a very high fee for simple tax prep?

Having already filed, you can't file in another way now.

I guess as long as you agreed to pay the fee, there has been no illegal activity, certainly not tax fraud.

Your fiance can claim you only if your fiance paid more than half the cost of maintaining the home and you did not earn more than $3,400 in 2007. Cost of maintaining a house includes rent and expenses of all three of you.

You can file a joint return if you live in a state where common law marriage is recognized. Once the common law marriage is recogonized, the divorce is not a common law divorce. It must be regular divorce just like in case of married persons.

If you wish to file joint return as common law marriage (and is recognised in your state), then you will file amended tax return. Your fiance must also amend the tax return.

MukatA has it right.

You would have to provide all of the financial information to determine if amending returns and filing jointly, or having your fiance file as Head of Household is an option.
