    Do I have to file taxes on disability backpay?
    Do I have to file taxes on my disability backpay? I also had income of $15000 before I received the disability last year. I received $28000 back pay.

    Yes, it is income that you must report on your tax return.
    May be a part of the income, for previous years, can be reported on previous years tax returns, so you may want to amend those tax return.
