My dependent childs 1099-INT for savings bonds

My child has a 1099-INT for cashing in Savings Bonds which was used for College. The bonds were in her name. I am claiming her as my dependent so does she have to claim the interest. I am claiming her tuition expenses which the interest was used for. I'm confused.

No, the interest is in HER name, so it goes on HER tax return.

Unless it is a LARGE number (over $800), no tax return is needed.
