claiming child

my boyfriend made more money this year about 40,000 claiming single i made less about 15,000 claiming single who would get more back in taxes claiming the child?

AtlantaTaxExpert Tax Expert Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Atlanta, Georgia Posts: 10,021	YOU probably would, not because the exemption is worth more to yo, but because YOU would the Earned Income Credit (this assumes that the child is YOU son/daughter). He made too much money to get the EIC.
