Can I deduct energy saving windows without itemizing on my tax form
I purchased energy saving windows for my home in 2008. Can any of this amount be a tax write off even if I use the standard deduction method?

No. Either you itemize and deduct the windows or you use standard deduction and not deduct the windows. Sorry, can't do a mix and match. It's either one or the other.

You could not mix and match even it were permitted, because, for 2008, energy-saving windows were NOT eligible for the deduction and are not eligible for the credit.
