Trojan Horse

I don't know too much about computers, but I have AVG free for virus control on my pc and in the virus vault it says there is two trojan horse exploits? How do I get these off of my computer completely so they aren't even stored in the virus vault? How does one get these viruses?

You get trojan's in a number of different ways. Some of them are as follows:
  • Visiting web pages with malicious ActiveX controls (stop using IE to fix this)
  • Opening emails containing these files (only ever open emails from trusted sources)
  • By not updating Windows regularly (trojans can get in through Windows exploits - so update Windows to fix these).

As for getting rid of it comlpetely - just leave it in your virus vault. AVG will remove it for you when it's safe to do so. Just deleting the file may do harm as some viruses tie themselves to important system files.

Hi,
When you run a virus scan, it will run faster in Safe Mode.
As far as leaving found viruses in the Virus Vault, I always delete them by opening Virus Vault, then using Action, Empty Vault.
After two years of using AVG now, I have never had any come back, and have never had a problem as a result of it. Just another opinion.
If you wish more info on the Virus Vault, here is a link for further explanations:

I do wish you the very best.
