I'm such a dummy: Alpha Antivirus removal needed!

So I was surfing the net when with what I thought was my windows antivirus telling me I had a virus so I downloaded whatever it told me to do- UGH.

So now I have this really annoying pop up and I found out it's a virus.

I tried looking in Program/Files in the Control Panel section but Alpha Antivirus is nowhere to be found! Help me remove this.

I also have Norton Antivirus-- it hasn't warned me or anything about Alpha.

Sarah

If you do a search you'll find removal instructions.

I'm not sure if we can post links on this forum.

After you remove it, run Norton and do a full scan just in case.

Hope this helps.

I did the full scan and nothing

I tried contacting Norton customer support and it'll cost me like $140 for this removal- I can't do that.

I did google it but I'm too scared to download any other program.

I think these instructions are pretty good
How To Remove Alpha Antivirus - (Removal Guide)
you don't have to download the thing at the top of the page.

Wrong:

Step 2. You will have to install Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. In this regard you need to download the software’s setup executable. Just click this link and save the .exe file on your computer (preferably on your desktop).

i was talking about the thing at the top of the page. you would still have to download the other thing. i think you have to download something to det rid of it.
also download antivir. it won't harm your computer. a lot of people use it.

Well I did it. Apparently it removed the virus.

However I still see it on my programs list, on my desktop.

When I click on it I get a pop us saying that the program has been moved?

So has it been removed completely?

Should I run a full scan again?
