My 14 year old son has been suffering from back pain for 1 year. He had physical therapy and feels better with rest. The pain is better but his back is still sore and becomes worse when he plays baseball. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion would be rest. In my line of work we have back problems all the time and or doctor told us it takes time to heal depending on how saver it is. It took my friend 2 years off of work and me and a few other friends to help him stay off his feet till he gets better. I hope your son gets well soon. It's a shame to see a 14 year old suffer.

Has he had X-Rays or an MRI? I am guessing the problem could be a bulging disk. I suffered with the same thing all the way through HS and College until it finally ruptured and I had to have surgery...my advice would be go to a specialist, find out what the true problem is, and address it immediately. Backs are one of those things that if not treated or treated wrong they just get worse with time. Much love Mamma!
