Knee won't scab over

I skidded out in the bike part of a triathlon last Sunday and skinned my knee, arm, etc. The bruises are awesome! I'm worried that the scab on my knee keeps cracking open because it's on a joint (obviously). Should I keep it covered with neosporin or something so it doesn't crack...it'll never heal. Or leave it uncovered with Bactine or something so it gets a scab but the scab keeps popping open? It's not a deep cut, it's just a lot of area. Thank you!

Also, I probably shouldn't run on it like this, huh?

probably to late to help but my understanding is to keep it covered and moist. scabs, expecially at joints, arent good, prone to cracking.

it probably wont take "longer" to heal if covered. a scab isnt really healed.
