foot injury after applying constant pressure

I have started having pain on the top of my foot about two weeks ago. I caused it by walking too fast in new boots (small heel, a 'thick' one). Firstly, I felt sharp pain on top of my foot and it felt a bit as if the foot stuck and I couldn't bend it. Nevertheless, I kept walking despite the pain and now came to the stage when I am limping. I felt sharp pain in my toes always when I stood on them and also pain coming from my toe to the middle of the arch on the side of my foot and on the top of the foot. I had x-ray done 4 days ago, was told everything is ok. Also have very little swelling on the top of the foot. Now that I have been resting it for two days it only hurts if I put weight on it but the pain is sharp coming from top of the foot (somwhere there where the bones are joining) all the way down to the big toe. There is also sharp pain if I press the area above my 3 and 4 toe from big toe. Any idea what it could be. The doctors weren't very helpfull so far... Thanks, m
