Well it would be hard to say how long you would be out of work, it really depends on what type of surgery the surgeon would be recommending. In my clinical experience usually with DJD a replacement of the joint is recommended; however, only your doctor would be able to tell you the best course of treatment. Talk with the ortho and see what he/she says and ask them how long they would anticipate you being out of work. Let us know how it all turns out and good luck.

Sincerely,

It is hard to answer because your recovery is based on factors that may be unique to you. Your specialist can give you the very best answer. My oldest son had that surgery and was off work two weeks. Now, you could very well have a different situation.
