understanding a dream

So I am new to this site, but I thought I would give it a shot!! I hope this is in the right section to.. I wasnt quite sure where to put dream topics...
Ok on to my question

In a nutshell I am going to give you a little history about this situation before I ask about these dreams. I became friends with this guy almost 8 years ago, I am not really sure if we had a connection then or not. You see this guy was the "it" guy for a lot of girls. To me he was just a cool guy to hang out with and talk to.

Several years into our friendship, we decided on night to take this to a different level. Neither of us were seeing anyone seriously at the time and honestly I thought it was pretty much going to be a one time thing and that was it. This has continued off and on now for several years.

This is where the dreams start. Probably about 1 year after we started hooking up, I would dream about him. Not sexual dreams at all.. and a lot of the times he never even spoke to me in these dreams. Some times I would have them every week and other times every other week to once a month... some times I would dream of him several times a week.

Again they were just random dreams with him showing up or being in them. This stopped for about 7 months though. In this 7 month time span, he proposed to his fiance.

Probably about 5 months into the engagement, I started dreaming of him again.. again nothing sexual, infact the one dream was just his phone number on a piece of paper.

I have had two dreams in the years of dreaming of him that I feel could have possibley ment something.

One were he was driving down a road that I was walking down, stopped and said, " I miss you".. further conversation went on but I dont quite remember all of it.. I know it was raining though.

The other dream was I was watching him and his fiance talk to a wedding cordinator speak to each other, his fiance left the room, and he looked at me and said, " What the hell did I get into"

Ironicly him and his fiance are not engaged anymore, for various reasons... but I still dream of him.

I am currently in a somewhat serious relationship. I mean we have our typical couple fights everyonce in a while, but I love him and could quite possibly see myself married to him in several years.

I guess my question is what do these dreams about this guy, who I never really had any feelings for, or really dated, but I do consider my friend.. mean excatly?????

I thought when I met my current boyfriend that these dreams would almost disappear.
But I still have them.. and I really cant figure out why??????

Any help would be GREAT@!!!!!

They are probably just because you are really close to each other emotionally.
maybe in your subconscience you really wonder where things would have went if you had been more to each other.
Maybe if you are ever both free then ask him if he wants to try a real relationship.

Try interpreting your dreams as though every person in the dream is an aspect of yourself. What aspect of yourself would this guy represent? Maybe a part of yourself that you have kept at arms length without ever taking seriously?

What would happen if you approached your friend sometime and tell him about your dream.
Perhaps he would have a response. You know that's what you want...a reaction and then maybe a closure to your dreams ...then again maybe a dream come true?
