Find, yes.
Lose, no.
Reject or deny, yes.

Fr_Chuck agrees: right on target
Jesushelper76 agrees: So true.
dog_skyhigh agrees: I understand the rejecting part which is true, I would still your understanding of "find".

Dog, I am not sure where you are comming from, you mention you are a bible scholar, and your profile shows you are a minister, even with a minister.com email address.

If you wish to discuss your beleif on finding God, perrhaps you can tell us where you are comming from. And then we can get a open discussion going on it.

As for God, he is not hiding, it is always there, it is us that have wondered away from him. We merely need to ask for him and he will be there for us, and we have the bible as a guide back to him.

dog_skyhigh agrees: You are so very correct, God is not hiding-He is always there. But how do we find Him?

My question for you is that if you are a Bible scholar and a teacher, why this question? Or are you surveying other's responses?

dog_skyhigh agrees: I should have said I was taking a survey. Sorry!

you can find god through prayer, church, the bible.
also, if you go looking for god, god will find you.

dog_skyhigh agrees: To a point you are right, but what happens when we are not looking for Him!

A person once finds the True and Only God, will work with all his strength to not let go of it.
Some have strayed away from God,but few will willingly lose Him knowing Him well.
But there are circumstances when a person may move away from the Almighty by committing sins knowingly that the Almighty has specifically asked to stay away from.

Here is my personal belief-
God is Just. Hence evildoers and sinners must have their share of punishment and the virtuous, His bounties and favors.
God's attribute of Mercy has full manifestation in His attribute of Justice. People suffering throughout their lives for His sake and people oppressing and exploiting other people all their lives should not receive similar treatment from their Lord.
Expecting similar treatment for them will amount to negating the very belief in the accountability of man in the Hereafter and thereby negating all the incentives for a moral and virtuous life in this world.
