Your Top Christmas Carols & Christmas Songs

Ok its that time of year when the holidays are around and I was just thinking what are people's top Carols or Chritmas songs that they like ??

Christmas songs for me would be The Pogues, Fairytale of New York and my Christmas Carol would have to be Joy To The World !

Please feel free to add to the list with as many as you like.....

Another vote for Silver Bells. All the more meaningful to me now that I spend one Saturday a year ringing bells for the Salvation Army. I am told I drove the rest of the family crazy singing it the year it came out.

I also love Joy to the World. It is an up tempo celebration of the true meaning of Christmas.

Mine seems both carol and popular song...

The Little Drummer Boy with Bing and Bowie

I like how it bridges generations and cultures, suggesting its a universal deal.

And its a song about humble and respectful love and how we are all gifted and worthy. That's really the best part of the message from the babe who's birth is honored on Christmas..... to me anyway, LOL

Rah pa pa pom!

I'm not sure if I've ever heard that version. I might have, but I'm not sure. I like David Bowie. Sounds cool.

Here ya go...

First time I heard it on the radio, I thought it was one of those dubbed in tricks of technology since the ol' crooner was gone by then, but its a real live, in person duet that amazed me when I saw it!

I love anything by TransSiberian Orchestra, and I love the Ukranian Bell Carol. This year is by far my favorite when I saw my 4 year old sing Silent Night in sign language. He is perfectly healthy and has no hearing impairment whatsoever. It brought tears to my eyes!!!

valinors_sorrow agrees: Yeah, that would have me diving in my purse for some kleenex, that's for sure!

Thanks. I never heard that before. That was cool. Definitely from some time back. Bowie looks pretty young there.

Yes, Thomas that one is TOPS!!!

Val, you would have needed a whole box of kleenex!! The kindergarteners sang the song in the background, while the pre-Ks (Johnny) signed the song. I get choked up just remembering!!!

What WONDERFUL teachers they have!!
