Hey there
I have also been looking for this song for ages and I'm sure I'm talking about the same one!
Facts:
1- a woman singing
2- no lyrics (or almost none)
3- not a very old song. Kind of dance/techno music. Often played in clubs (at least all over Europe). Kind of summer song very entertaining
4- sounds like "nanananana oh oh oh" and then a few words and again
5- no rock, no hip hop, not an oldie from the 60s
It's not underdog project or zombie (even if the song are cool). And def. not around the world, hot strepper, roxanne... these songs anyway have lyrics and it's easy peasy to find them! We are talking here about a tricky one!
Hope someone out there can help
Xo

If there are no lyrics and the beat sounds like na na na na na... I think this sounds like
THE LAUNCH... played at the clubs when I started going to afterhours and so on back in 2000.
Actually... there are a few lyrics which say get ready for the launch. I viewed it on YouTube.
DJ JEAN-THE LAUNCH... but the beat to me sounds like na na na...

:) Thanks so much, but not the right one. It's almost funny how hard this song is to track down, yet everyone would know it if they heard it. It's not as old as 2000, more like released in '06-'08-ish. It's more smooth than the Launch song. The mmmnananana is the majority of it, but with a woman's voice coming in, only now and then.
Again, thank you!

If I may also add, this song has been used in a recent commercial, but can't remember which. Like a car ad, or iPod, or makeup or something. Looked through all commercials recently and couldn't find it either. Kind of as popular as that Target ad (You say goodbye, I say hello) - NOTE - this is NOT the song. Just an example of how damn catchy this song is, and how used in a commercial. But it is NOT Sandstorm, or MYMYMYMY, etc.
Sounds like, "Mmm nanana, duhduhduh, mmmnananana." Mind you, they're not saying duh, but that's just the sound. :D I swear, whomever made this song popular has got to be laughing their off at how hard we're working to find it. Seems it would be so much easier to find, considering how popular it is. Also been played in clubs - but again, not an old song.

Have you yet found what you're looking for? Think we're after the same thing. If so, please pass along. =) Thanks!

Might be: freaks - the creeps
An idea: try wisling the song (acurately mind) in a mic and host the file and would make it a bit easier than nananaduhduh lol.

Ok, was at a place in OC last night called La Cav and it came on. I shot out of my chair asking the band/dj what it was and he said it was something along the lines of a song (remake of original) named Stars in the Sky, or Sky Full of Stars? Damn the wine I drank - my memory is a bit bad now... food for thought - the search continues.

Ok, I hope this helps, cause this has been driving me NUTS. Went out last night and was told this was a remake of a song by Norman Greenbaum called "Spirit in the Sky". What I can't figure out is who sings the version we're all looking for. Looked on club mix lists, commercials, etc. It is DEFINITELY the song, but not the right cover (looking for the electronic version with the gal singing the one lyric she does, and there's the "mmnananana" chorus. But this IS the song... can someone help find the current version we're looking for? It's not dj dubois, etc.
Many thanks, hope this helps, and if someone can post the answer to the second part, you'd make many a friend. :D

Ok, the song that I have found to match what I was looking for (and MAY be what you're looking for is called "Ooh La la" by a British group called Goldfrapp.
Here's a link to the Wikipedia listing, and there's a sample to listen as well:
