We paid an auto repair shop with credit card to replace a fuel pump. The fuel pump replacement did not perform properly. We returned vehicle to mechanic twice. Each time he kept vehicle a week but did not fix the pump. Including initial repair he had vechicle three weeks. We took vehicle to a dealer and they diagnosed problem as the fuel pump in one day. Paid dealer for diagnoisis and to put on new pump. We returned pump to original repair shop and they refunded the part cost only. We sent a certified letter asking for remainder of the bill as a refund. If faulty mechanic does not respond, we intend to dispute charge with credit card company for faulty work. Can the mechanic file a lien on the vehicle for the disputed credit card charge?
