levy on bank account

there was a levy put on my bank account, just found out yesterday, didn't know i was getting sued because my sorry ex-husband didn't tell me or five my the letters, now i don't know what to do and don't have no money for a lawyer how do i get the levy tooken off, i have contacted the lawyer and they are not telling me nothing, please help

There are dozens of threads in this forum and under Bankruptcy and Debt that deal with this. I suggest you browse them for more info.

The only grounds you might have to vacating the judgement is because you were never informed of the suit. But if the reason you were never informed was because your husband didn't pass along the info, I doubt that will fly.

If this is a valid debt, then the only choice is to pay it.

progunr agrees: He is Correct. The only way to stop the levy is to pay the judgment.

I really never was informed i haven't spoken to my ex-husband in over a year, after the divorce i was on public assistance for a while, i just got a job june 9th, and the little money i had in there they took, i am trying to contact the lawyer who sued me but they are really not given me no answers
