Most of them will have them... assuming they are citizens and not illegals.

    But what's the question?

Sorry, I accidentally pressed the enter button, but my question was, "Where can I find the debtor's SSN? I was hoping that sending a copy of the Judgment to any Credit Bureau would have been enough, to request their Credit Report, but it seems like I would need the SS# as well. Thank you for your prompt response, by the way! ;)

If you go to the credit bureau, they are going to need that info as you expect. How about the Court that issued you the judgement against the Debtor? They would have that info... and would know you have a reason to get it.

Ok, thank you.. . I didn't think of asking them. I thought they had given me all the info they had, which doesn't include the SSN.

What makes you think the court would know? You file a complaint with the information you have. If you don't tell them, they aren't going to know anything.

You are going to have to engage in discovery to find out, I think.

And as far as a reason to get the SSN is concerned, how is a credit report going to help the judgment creditor?

So I gather you were awarded a judgment and now you are trying to collect. Welcome to the little know Catch-22 of judgements. Getting the judgment is often the easy part. Collecting is a different matter entirely.

If you do not have any financial or identifying info on the debtor, you will have to file a discovery motion with the court to get him to fill out interrogatories. But often the court will not compel the debtor to do so even if they issue an order to do so.

You will need to find some assets of the debtor on your own.
