I recently started a business that will cater to bank-owned properties. We will basically be like a middle person and will contract out work such as electrical, carpeting, cleaning, window replacement, etc. No construction is involved.

We applied for a business license. Are there any other licenses required? Bonds?

You will want to be insured and of course require proof of insurnace for any sub contractor you are going to hire.

But in some states you will need a contractors license if you are gong to sub contract out electrical work, window replacement and maybe some plumbing work


The bonding will depend upon any requirements the banks have, but if they require it, you will also have to require any sub contractor to provide that also.
