I network all of the time concerning the small businesses that I have. I bring up the subject in conversations, at various social functions, as to what I do for a living. Networking is vital to getting your business known and services or products that you provide being utilized by all sorts of people.

Or, do you mean something different, since you have run the words socialnetworks together?

Assuming you're referring to Web 2.0 social networks, they can be helpful only if you're an active participant and invest the time and effort into building your presence and keeping up with trends. It's no different than f2f social networking; if you go to join groups and go to meetings and events but don't talk to anyone, you're not going to get any good contacts or referrals.

Stringer agrees: Agreed.......to often people simply forget the objective to actually speak to people...not shouting down that well...Stringer
