| | | will i have to use skin lighteners all my life to maintain my color? Hi
Im wondering about something
When you start using skin lightening creams is it necessary to use it everytime to maintain the color you acheived with the cream
or else skin color will darken?
even if its natural creams?
Please people who totally stopped using lightening or withening cream(is there a difference??) can you tell me how your skin reacted?did it come back to its original color?
I asked about it on womeninquire and she replied to me :
"If you stop using a Hydroquinone based skin lightener, your skin willdarken because you will be in direct sunlight at least a few minutes aday. This is enough to darken skin, even if you are using sunscreen. You can maintain your lighter complexion by using a skin lightener 2-3times a week instead of everyday. So you will need to use skin lightenersas long as you want to keep your results. "
please tell me what is your opinion from your experience
Thanks | | | | | | |

| Personally I believe that once you start any sort of lightening regime, that you have to incorporate some sort of maintenance program in order to keep up some of the results. Just stopping using the lightener will very likely result in the reversal of any sort of work you have been doing.
To hep combat this, it may mean you just use the product less often, making sure that you use sun screen/block and avoid excessive sun exposure.
I also think that using things like retin A, retinol, lactic acid, glycolic acid etc products should also help with skin turnover and in itself, help to maintain overall skin brightness.
In addition to this you need to consider whether the lightening that you have achieved has meant the removal of a tan or build up in your natural pigmentation OR has meant that you have attained a colour that is beyond your own natural colour. In the first scenario I think it is easier to maintain results wthout needing to use external lighteners too often, but if you have become much lighter than you should be naturally, then it would be hard to keep up your results without using something. This is my own opinion. |

| hi
Thanks for all this information
Actually my skin has the same color(maybe a shade lighter i think) as it was last winter. But last summer my skin color became very dark.maybe i did expose too much to sun.But before evry winter the tan used to fade out.Not this time.Maybe by using hydroquinone the tan had gone faster..i dont know
I will try to use lightening cream twice a week+sunblock and will see the difference after few months.
Problem is it wont be easy to know because summer is coming...lol |

| shaneze,
what lightener are you using ?
If it is a HQ product, remember that it is essential that you avoid excessive sun exposure. |
