I think there's enough scientific evidence to prove that glutathione pills or other digested supplements are useless. Your body does not absorb glutathione in the manner than it should be used; it produces it's own, and the target is therefore increasing your body's natural production of glutathione.

(E.g. natural protein powders and whey's often contain refined amino acids that increase this output of antioxidants including glutathione.)

Direct skin contact of course, is another story, but also doesn't have sufficient evidence.

Do you think glutathione soaps work because of the glutathione that is used to be in the soap, or other lightening ingredients that arent mentioned. Because early this year I was using the Diana Stalder glutathione soap, and it did not lighten as it was portrayed to do. I read many positive reviews from people using the sw+ss glutathione soap, but I am thinking that it helps lighten because of possibly other lightening ingredients added. My reasons for this is because it's known that it takes large amounts of l-glutathione in the body in order to cause the side effect of lightened skin. So, now I'm thinking how can a glutathione soap bar lighten the skin a couple of weeks later? Then the medical field would also have glutathione soap bars for patients who are diagnosed with cancer, HIV, etc...? Which I doubt is possible, only through the veins, correct? Just my theory. Maybe there will be other ways of increasing glutathione levels significantly, such as the amino acids. But, for the many bodybuilders who dedicate their lives on drinking protein shakes that contain whey, I never noticed them getting lighter. Maybe theres another way?

I have no experience with Glutathione soap, etc. but according to scientific research, it helps with the detoxifying process. Assuming that your skin absorbs it correctly, it may slow down the oxidization process for melanin. As for the digestion theory, Glutathione is an anti-oxidant, so people automatically assume that it will make you healthier (which it will) and thus even out your complexion if not make you lighter. It's very possible that glutathione soaps only have a small amount of pure glutathione, and use other lighteners as a majority.

As for protein shakes and whey, they contain a compound called gamma-glutamylcysteine which increases glutathione, which some say help with libido and gives you a general energy boost. (Great for athletes and body builders.)

Anyhow, I'd have to say that glutathione's effectiveness is understudied at the moment, so I can't give a reasonable explanation as to why some people claim they work while other's say (such as the body builder example) they don't. I know for a fact it's good for your health and overall well being however. (And may improve skin tone a bit just as all good diets do.)

The glutathione soap that I used proved ineffective, possibly low amounts of glutathione then. A year and half ago when I was working at the gym, I drank lots of protein shakes that contained high amounts of whey. I received advice from trainers and body builders to help tone more. I never noticed any lightening at all, as I was drinking them for about 5 months. I was oblivious to glutathione and gamma-glutamylcysteine at the time and did not know what else it could be used for.

Yep, I personally work out, and actually use a brand of whey protein from GNC that boosts glutathione production by about 1350mg.

It's pretty hard to tell whether or not it's affecting my skin as I use other products as well.

I think it could most likely come from the topical natural lighteners that you are using. How many shades have you lightened in total? Have you started using your mono formula yet?

So far 2 shades; though I began using the special mono dilute a few days ago. Seems to be going well as I alternate, take breaks, etc.

The monobenzone is actually pretty slow since I'm using 4-5%, but it's much safer than 20%. (I actually tried about half a teaspoon across both arms and legs, and it gave me a instant lighter complexion, with lighter dots around the area, which is a sign for instability.)

That's true, much safer than the 20% mono. Oh yeah, I had forgotton that quick that I already asked you that question about the shades. Well, I hope you are able to find a way to stablize your lightening, 4-5% is probably best then, as it may even give you a much more natural lightening appearance.

I have tried metathione before but the effect is very slow. im now using beauoxi white glutathione 5in1 and angel night cream and im very happy with the results. no exaggeration but with angel night cream, i experience lightening results in as early as 1 week. i think for creams or soap, i would suggest those with kojic , vitamin c and arbutin because glutathione is not effective skin whitener is in topical form. with Beauoxi white glutathione, i noticed whole body whitening after the first month. im on my 6th month now and im a lot lighter already. my skin is clearer and rosy.
