Dark spots caused by healed skin
I have dark skin, under, around, over and at the sides of my eyes. It was first caused by a rash which healed and left the skin darker when I was a kid. 8 years later I used a hydroquinone based product to finally get rid of it and it made everything worse causing darker skin to spread all around my eyes.

My dermatologist keeps telling me to use this hydroquinone product called Ultraquin 4% but I've used it already and it made things worse.

I've tried everything from hydroquinone to cucumber/lemon juice and I don't know what else to use. I just was to lighten the darker skin so it doesn't look like I have 2 black eyes.
I just got the Godiva Starters pack, but I can't tell if its working.

Is there anything else I can do? Someboday please help.

I'm going to be answering normal skin care questions on the Skin Care forum, and this seems like a normal question. Ultraquin is very strong, it contains 4% hydroquinone. If that didn't help the discolorations around your eyes, then you should let your Dermatologist know. Perhaps he/she may prescribe another product to you. Remember that the under eye area is thin and very sensitive. If you keep putting different products on that area, it's going to cause irritation and swelling. It's best that you visit your Dermatologist for treatments.

The thing is, I told me dermatologist that, and she still recommended that I use Ultraquin 4% with a mix of 2.5% Hydrocortisone powder. Before I was told to only use it before bedtime, but after my last visit a few weeks ago, I was told to use it morning and night for no longer than 6 months. Should I start to use it again?

I also have this problem with dark circles around the eyes. The thing that works best for me is Ultravate ointment. Ask your dermatologist about it. I use it in conjunction with fade cream.

You can just look in the Yellow Pages under "Doctors" or "Physicians". You can also search online for Dermatologists in your area. What state are you in?
