Have a Patient

Asked Feb 19, 2009, 01:31 AM — 5 Answers
Hi I am medical student(in dermotology), I have a patient whose biopsy report says mild hyperkeratosis and a thin granular layer.no keratotic follicular plugs seen, dermis also shows mild perivascular infiltration by mononuvlear cells and pigment incontinence.Melanophages are also seen.hydropic degeneration of basal layer is not seen.

Now I think it can be the case of erythema dyschomicum perstans and dygnosis skin biopsy shows non specific features with pigment incontinence? Cud b a cause

Though I have recommended combo of resticlyn and alergea which has given good results for two weeks but later the same spots are seen.Any doctor here? We can have a discussion.
Lol ! Hope this is not too heavy for this site..

I have medical faculty, but I'm not an active doctor. How do changes on the skin look, how old is a patient, is he/she exposed to the sun...and where this hyperkeratosis appears after all .

Have you tried some online derm atlases?
