i have been breaking out

I have been breaking out in bumps and welts all over my arms and a little over my body. they itch a lot and are sore. I've recently had a hysterectomy and a blood transfusion in December on the 23,2011. I dont know if that has something to do with it, do anybody have a answer?

It could have something to do with it. But without seeing it, it sounds like an allergic reaction which could be caused by an allergen in your home or even something that you ate. Have you tried anti-histamines or cortisone ointment? Sometimes though rare allergies can be transferred through blood transfusions or it could just be a new allergy that has appeared. Are you taking any medications? They could be causing the reaction depending what they are. Also, how long have you had the welts? Do they seem to be multiplying or are there numbers staying about the same?

If it's not better by tomorrow I would advise calling your doctor and getting an appointment, particularly given your past history. If you begin to get the welts near your mouth or throat or it becomes difficult to breathe- go to the hospital ASAP.

It could be cellulitis or even MRSA. Time for a doctor to look at this.
